So I drove 6 hours home today. And well I found out basically my area of OH is screwing us on the price of gas, we're paying about 20cents higher than the majority of the other areas in that state. Indiana was in the middle for price. But I did find out that after 3 yrs of having a Speedway Speedy Rewards card (I got it because usually Speedway does 2 months a year with 5 or 10 cents off per discount all month if you swipe the bonus card). So I was in getting a cup of coffee and the cashier mentioned I should check my balance to see if I was eligble for a free coffee(prior to me buying mine). I wasn't eligible for free coffee, but I was eligible for free $25 gift card to Speedway. That means not only did I get free coffee I filled my tank for free too. (It usually takes a tank and a half round trip. So $25 adds up to 1 tank for me so the majority of the gas for my trip is free. :) WOOHOO!
I got home and my dear mother and I exchanged surprises-I gave her extra freebie items I hounded-cleaning products, All, betty crocker icing, random pantry items and of course foil and razors. :) She handed me 8 coupon inserts she's saved for me. Gotta love my mom, she always gives me the best surprises!
And reminding me that some of the best life lessons we learned at age 5 & well you never really grow up-I see Winne the Pooh the cartoon. My family has never called anyone by their names but only uses nicknames we've acquired over the yrs-I'm AJ(of course), My sister is Pooh Bear(yea I was 6 when she was born and didn't know babys were all flush and chubby when they're born so I thought she looked like the cartoon....plus she had that super soft baby skin then) this has since morphed to various things close to this-now I call her BB in front of people for Bear Bear. The point of this is my mom will send me quotes of things BB has said, so I in turn forward the email to my sister with Winnie the Pooh cartoon quotes. I've come to realize how smart Pooh the cartoon was. So I've decided to post one a week because well I think the life lessons were/are important. And I get a warm fuzzy from it!

Don't you just love it when you get surprised like that with the gasoline? I am so glad you are enjoying your family.
ReplyDeleteI've got to get a Speedway card, where we moved, I will go by one every day, and it usually has the best prices in our area. My dad was saying in January they had a deal where if you made a certain number of purchases, you got 7,000 bonus points. He kept topping off their tank just to get the number of purchases in!
