Late night grocery run

So late last night I made a grocery run to the store....I shop later when I can because there are less people, less lines, and no one is held up by my coupons. I don't like the store when it's bustling since it's the only grocery store we have it is crazy at the busy times.
20 Yoplait yogurts(on sale $0.50 and buy 20 get $2 back) I had several $0.40 and $0.50 coupons off that doubled. *See note below
1 Edge shave gel-$1.89 on sale, used $0.75 coupon that double=$0.39
1 dozen Egglands eggs $1.49-coupon $0.50 off doubled =$0.49
2 pint blueberries $2
1 bunch of broccoli-$1.25
1 gallon skim milk $1.89
1 gallon Simply Orange Juice $2.50
Used $5 off next purchase catalina coupon.
Shelf cost was $30.22, savings=$18.78
Total 27 items, spent $13.44 got $2 off next coupon back.

* I went to self check there was no line and maybe 5 people in the store with several other lanes. I had several coupons in my hand-I had not sorted out how many I needed. (Yoplait Qs were $0.40 off 6, and $0.50 off 8) so I planned to count and figure out which ones I would use. I realized when I got home she used 2 $0.40 of Qs and 2 $0.50 Qs. (Technically should need to get 30 not 20 yogurts to use these, but they didn't beep and I didn't notice til I counted my leftover stack today). This irritated me because now I have less coupons for the next time but oh well I guess I did come out on top. And I do have a lot of yogurts and coupons for it. (We're on a health kick so we've been eating lots of yogurt and more fresh fruits).

I'll post my CVS, Walgreens, and RiteAid deals later.

Also I received the Nature Valley rebate-$2.99 :)

  1. Gawd, I went through self checkout at my grocer the other day with a fist full of coupons and it beeped after 15, I guess they have a limit on how many coupons you can use at self checkout...... so the manager had to come over and over-ride the last 12. errrrrr

  2. Oh man that's frustrating. Mine beeps if you get up to 80% savings. I've had to have "the checker card" swiped, upside once it is swiped it's good for all the additional coupons I needed swiped. :) Unfortunately the same problem usually happens with discounted meats. I like our self check better than regular check because it's always vacant late at night(it's a 24 hr store with usually 1 checker lane and 5 self checks open from 9pm-6am and 1 checker supervising the self check lanes). Plus I can pack my reusable grocery bags the way I like-by which shelf they will be unloaded onto and which freezer. :)
