Free Money is always good

I tried to be patient....and not cash in my swagbucks for an Amazon gift card.....really I did try hard. But I caved after 4 days and just cashed it in. Really I blame DH and my MIL for my lack of will power. MIL bought DH at Christmas a $50 Amazong gift card, which he of course used right away. So they mail her a code for a free $5 for herself. So she gave it us, it expires at the end of February and I already have applied 5 free $5 Amazon giftcards from Swagbucks (in end Dec/ early Jan) so I figured I might as well redeem 1 more that would give us $35 free dollars to Amazon. Who knows what we will buy but it's nice to have free money. The next birthday is in May so I'm looking for a great cookbook that also discusses wine recommendations for the meal. I may order that for my sister in law. Swagbucks is definitely helping our budget for gifts this year! :) But I know I have absolutely no will power so I don't know that I will ever get a large value giftcard. Maybe one day.

  1. I cashed in for my first $5 Amazon gift card last week, it's so exciting to get it for free. DH laughs at me. I had to order something from Best Buy this weekend, and ebates only offered 1% back, so I figured it was a better deal to go through swagbucks, in my head I was thinking, that's almost another $5 Amazon gift card! :-)

  2. I heart free money too :D I'm trying very hard to save my swagbucks for Starbucks GCs. DH gets amazon rewards through his CC, so we don't need any more of those. I'm so happy to see that I've already earned over 100 points since the beginning of Jan.

  3. The swagbucks gift cards has helped me tremendously on gifts and our budget. I redeem them as soon as I can through swagbucks, then put them on my amazon account and let them build there. You never know when swagbacks will change how they do stuff. Used to you could request as many as you had the bucks for, now they limit us. Also they used to cost more than 45 bucks, I figure that will change before much longer too, so I get them when I can before the price goes back up!

  4. Lol Glad to know I'm not the only one ladies. Lisa-Good to know it didn't used to be that way. I keep loading them onto my Amazon account as soon as I get them I made a separate acct from DH so he doesn't accidentally spend my free money. I'm going to keep grabbing them for sure before the price goes back up. DH laughs because everytime he sees my Swagbucks total it's super low because I've just redeemed giftcards.

  5. How do you load them onto your Amazon account? And when do you see them show up on swagbucks after you buy one?

  6. Amy-
They are delivered to your swagbucks account(under my gift cards) every 16th and 30th of the month. It sometimes takes up to 2 days for it to get loaded, and if it falls on the weekend like the 16th did and the 30th will expect to see it in your gift cards section the Monday or Tuesday after. To load on Amazon go into your account, go to "Your Account" top right corner, the second box down will say payment, there is a section that says Gift Cards and click on Apply giftcard to your account. Just copy and paste the code you get in the swagbucks gift card area into the box and you'll see it automatically applied to your account.

  7. I agree with Lisa B. I beleive the Amazon GC's are the best value on swagbucks. I am always afraid they will raise the # of points for them, so I add them to my amazon account right away. Except this month I have surpassed the amount of amazon cards I can order, so the points are building up.
