Money Saving Challenge

Well I ran a few errands during lunch-and then worked out after work for an hour so it's been a pretty good day.

Grocery Store-Giant Eagle
I was in the meat section and noticed Smithfields marinated pork tenderloins were marked down 50% off so I got 4 different ones since DH likes them. Originally it was $45 in meat, I paid $8 total for all 4. Great score.
I got 4 pillsbury crescent rolls and 2 cans biscuits-I ended up paying $.12 each for these so it was worth it to me, and for some reason I got back $8 in Catalinas for the purchase.
It was a good quick trip for what I got-and we've got $25 left in the grocery budget for the month-but there's nothing else we need until Feb. So I'll be using it at the Kroger deal if I get anything when I'm by one this weekend.

I was in such a rush to throw dinner together I confused the 2 recipes todays and tomorrows.
But it turned out yummy so DH and I liked it. I made what DH calls Hawaiian Roni
It's rice, onions, 1/2 c. water, 1 tbsp of butter, 1 sliced carrot, 2 tbsp of teriyaki sauce, 1 small can of pineapple( I had crushed in my pantry so that's what we used), and 3 slices of ham diced( the carrots and ham were supposed to go in tomorrows casserole and I was supposed to used diced red peppers and sliced pork. I'll just put those in my sunny day casserole tomorrow night. Wish I'd paid a little more attention. Enjoying some good book time tonight. I stopped at the library during lunch got a new release book by an author I like and a few dvds. My library has a very extensive dvd collection that for the most part is in good shape and unscratched.
