It's been a few days since I posted.
I used Swagbucks today and claimed another $5 Amazon gift card(I'll get the code on Feb 16th timeframe) plenty of time to buy a gift I need for April.
I had a coupon for $10 off $30 purchase at Party City. I had a $15 gift certificate from a basket raffle at work. I ended up getting decorations, plates and the roll type of table cloth for multiple tables for $5.42 including tax. It was a great deal. So I got $30 worth of stuff almost free.
Meal Planning:
I slow roasted a chicken in the crockpot today then broke it down after work. (I do this right before DH takes out the trash because I can't stand the icky smell after bones are left in the trash can).
Monday-Chicken Enchilladas, sides: Old El Paso Mexican rice and black beans microwave pouches(These were .25 a pouch, after coupons a few weeks ago so we figured we'd try it.) The rice and beans tasted ok. I wouldn't pay more than $0.25 for the pouches-it wasn't worth more to me.
Tuesday-Slow Roasted Beef and Carrots in the Crockpot (I love the crock pot in the winter time)
Wednesday-Chicken a la King in puff pastries (using small chopped pieces of chicken from the whole chicken.
Thursday-Beef and homemade noodles (I'm making my great grandma's homemade noodles I always make as chicken and noodles).
Friday-Meatloaf(Mom's recipe DH has been begging me to make this-I've never tried it so fingers crossed and good ol' mom on speed dial I should be ok.....she doesn't measure except with her hands)
Saturday- Grilled Fish or Steak-I haven't decided which will be thawed from the freezer.
Sunday-All kinds of fun finger foods because we're hosting our annual Super Bowl party and making homemade pizza too!

You menu looks so good. Thanks so much for the review on the Old El Paso sides. I was wondering if they were any good.
ReplyDeletePrecious-DH says it smells funny when you open the pouch after the microwave, but he says the same thing about the uncle bens microwave pouches. I have not tasted the Uncle Bens (we had a few I got for free) only he has. He couldn't describe it beyond "funny" and it was already on plates by the time I got to the table.
