A little Money Saving challenge update

Rite Aid
2 pks of 45 Dixie paper plates (Bogo sale) $3.99 -$3/2 video values coupon (great deal $0.45/each)
2 Ricola cough drops $1.50/each, $1/2 Q, got back $1UP reward. Currently this is best deal in my area, we needed some since I have been sick.
I used 1 UP reward to pay.
Total out of pocket= $2.43 (subtotal was $1.99, tax was .44).

CVS
We finally started to run low on tp, DH will only use charmin so doing the free deal at riteaid for generic brand wasn't an option.

I bought 2 big packs at cvs for $9.99/each, -$1.50 (2 Qs)
1 dawn for $0.97-$.50 Q= $0.47
1 pk puffs tissues with lotion=$0.99-$0.25 Q (again we needed because of sickness and DH is picky)
4 boxes of raisin bran @ $1.79/each, my grocery store sells for $4/each so this was great deal to stock up for DH.

Grocery store deals
5 Green Giant boxed veggies-sale $1 each, 2 Qs doubles to total of $2.20=$2.80 for 5
3 Campbell's soups $1/each, $1 off Q= $2 total for 3
3 Ragu $2/each-$1.25/3 Q=3.50 total after doubles.
Bananas $0.49/lb got 2 pounds
Blistex chapstick $1-.50 Q doubled=Free
Got 1 discounted meat.
Total was $14.41 for 14 items.
Saved $19.45

DH made a stop for me
2   45 pks of Glad forceflex for $5.99/each- two $3 Qs.=$2.99/each.
5 Oranges for $2
This was great deal for trashbags for us. The $3 Q was an Internet printable, not sure if it's still available.
I'm still trying to update the monthly budget-but I know we're still under for groceries.

Got our electric bill-budget for winter months=$150, bill this month was $95. YAY :)

  2. It was very surprising since we have heat pump and everything is electric(no gas), but keep in mind we live in a condo so we only have 2 outside walls....one of those is a guest bedroom and garage. We keep the guest bedroom closed off because it is so cold unless it is needed. We also keep our home at 70 if we are home and use blankets, socks, space heater if necessary for the room we are. Also getting flannel sheets and flannel duvet have saved so much in making our bedroom warmer. :)
